Our Story
At Featherstone Calls, every Call we make is built with one purpose — performance in the field .
We prioritise quality over quantity, choosing only premium materials that stand up to real hunting conditions and last season after season.
We work with hard, tonal timbers like African Blackwood and NZ native Maire — not just because it looks incredible, but because it delivers the rich, ducky sounds you want when birds are skittish. Each insert is hand-tuned giving you a call that speaks clearly and confidently every time.
How we started
Featherstone Calls was born from early mornings in the maimai chasing limits, and from frustration with calls that just didn’t deliver in tough New Zealand conditions. After years of trying other brands, I started designing my own — built for the real hunters who demand reliability when it matters most.
In 2020, what began as a fascination with turning wood into something that sounds like a duck, quickly became an obsession. Hundreds of prototypes, countless hours of tuning later. I crafted a call I was proud to trust in the field and excited to share with others — starting with the Lady May.
What Featherstone Means
Featherstone Calls isn’t a factory line — it’s a one-person operation driven by passion and experience. Every call is crafted with care, tuned with precision, and tested where it counts — on the water and in the blinds only serious hunters know.
We don’t mass produce.
We don’t cut corners.
We build weapons — handcrafted, tailored for our NZ birds, and proven in the field.
